  • Live, one-to-one, online
  • Female tutors on request

Who it’s for

  • Complete beginners, including school students
  • First-year university students taking an introductory programming course
  • Students who need a second language, such as Java after Python
  • Anyone who wants to build web pages with HTML, CSS and JavaScript

Before you start

  • No programming experience is needed for Programming Fundamentals.
  • For C++, Java or web development, basic computer use is enough; some programming helps.
  • A laptop or desktop computer. The tutor helps you install the tools in the first lesson.

Problems we help with

  • Not knowing which language to learn first
  • Following tutorials but freezing in front of an empty file
  • Error messages that make no sense
  • Programming labs that move on before you understood the last one

How lessons work

  1. You type, the tutor guides

Every lesson is hands-on: you share your screen and write the program, and the tutor explains, asks questions and corrects as you go.

  2. Small programs, often

Each idea is practised on short programs you can finish in the lesson, then combined into bigger ones.

  3. Learn to debug early

Mistakes are part of the lesson. You learn to read errors and find bugs yourself instead of waiting for help.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Write and run programs that use variables, conditions, loops and functions
  • Read an error message and find the line that caused it
  • Break a problem into steps before writing code
  • Be ready to move on to Object-Oriented Programming and Data Structures

These are the aims of the lessons. Progress depends on the student’s starting point and practice, and we never promise grades or results.

Frequently asked questions

Which language should I learn first?

If you have no course requirement, Python is a good first language because its syntax is simple. If your school or university uses C++ or Java, learn that one. The tutor can advise in the free class.

Is programming suitable for school students?

Yes. Programming Fundamentals is for beginners of any age who can use a computer comfortably. The tutor adjusts the pace and examples to the student.

Do I need a special computer?

Any laptop or desktop that can run a code editor and a browser is enough. A phone or tablet is not suitable for programming lessons.

Can I try a lesson first?

Yes. The first 30-minute class is free, so you can meet the tutor and try how lessons work before paying.
