Online maths tuition, from times tables to university calculus

Live one-to-one maths lessons that follow the student's own textbook and board. The tutor explains each method, works an example on screen, then watches the student solve questions and corrects the working as it happens.

Before you start

  • No entry test. Tell us the grade, the board or curriculum, and the textbook the student uses.
  • A notebook and pen for working, and a calculator if the syllabus allows one.

Problems we help with

  • Getting the right answer in class but not in a test
  • Gaps from earlier years, such as fractions or negative numbers, that make new topics hard
  • Word problems that are hard to turn into an equation
  • Losing marks for missing steps in the working
  • Calculus or trigonometry that moves too fast in class

Topics covered

  • Primary and middle school (Grades 1 to 8)

    • Place value, the four operations and times tables
    • Fractions, decimals and percentages
    • Ratio, proportion and unit rates
    • Shapes, angles, perimeter and area
    • First steps in algebra: expressions and simple equations
  • Matric, O Level, IGCSE and GCSE

    • Algebra: expressions, factorisation, equations and inequalities
    • Quadratic equations and their graphs
    • Geometry, mensuration and trigonometry
    • Sets, functions and matrices, where the syllabus includes them
    • Statistics and probability
  • FSc, A Level and IB

How lessons work

  1. Find the gap first

In the free 30-minute first class the tutor checks what the student can already do, and finds where any confusion started.

  2. Follow the student's own syllabus

Lessons use the student's textbook, board and exercise numbers, so tuition supports classwork and homework.

  3. Explain, work an example, then practise

The tutor explains a method and works one question on screen. The student then solves similar questions while the tutor checks each step.

  4. Show the working

Students learn to set out each step the way their teachers and examiners expect, so method marks are not lost.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Understand why a method works, not only the steps
  • Solve textbook and exam questions independently, with clear working
  • Turn word problems into equations
  • Know which topics are secure and which need more practice

These are the aims of the lessons. Progress depends on the student’s starting point and practice, and we never promise grades or results.

Frequently asked questions

The questions students and parents ask us most, filed where you can find them. Pull a card to read it.

Which levels of maths do you teach?

From Grade 1 to university: primary and middle school, Matric, O Level, IGCSE and GCSE, FSc, A Level and the IB Diploma, and BS maths courses such as calculus, linear algebra, statistics and discrete mathematics.

Which boards and curricula do you follow?

Pakistani Matric and Intermediate (FSc) boards, Cambridge O Level and A Level, IGCSE and GCSE, the IB, the American curriculum and Gulf national curricula. Tell us the board and textbook, and the tutor follows them.

Academic Tuition

Can the tutor help with homework?

Yes. The tutor explains the methods behind the homework and works similar examples, so the student can then do the homework questions themselves.

Do you prepare students for maths exams?

Yes: school tests, Matric and FSc board exams, and Cambridge, IGCSE and A Level papers, with past-paper practice. Tell us the exam date and we plan around the time left.

School Exam Preparation

Do you help with university maths courses?

Yes, for maths courses in BS (16-year) degrees. Send us the course outline and we confirm a tutor before the free class. Tutors explain and check understanding; they never complete graded work.

How many maths classes a week are there?

The standard plan is 3 one-hour classes a week. The other plans give two or four classes a week; the table on this page shows each price. You choose the days and times.

Can we ask for a female maths tutor?

Yes. Female tutors are available. Tell us when you get in touch and we confirm the tutor with you before the free class.
