Online science tuition: General Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Live one-to-one science lessons that follow the student's own textbook and board. Tutors explain concepts in the words the syllabus uses, work numericals step by step with units, and practise the diagrams and long answers examiners expect.

  • A notebook for diagrams and working, and a calculator for numericals.

Problems we help with

  • Memorising definitions without understanding them
  • Numericals: choosing the formula and keeping track of units
  • Chemical equations and mole calculations
  • Diagrams and labelling that lose marks
  • Long answers that do not match the marking scheme

How lessons work

  1. Concept before formula

The tutor explains what is happening first, with diagrams on screen, so the formula or definition makes sense when it arrives.

  2. Numericals, step by step

Every numerical follows the same steps: list the data, choose the formula, substitute with units, then check the answer is sensible.

  3. Follow the student's own syllabus

Lessons use the student's textbook, board and chapter order, so tuition supports what is taught in class.

  4. Answer the way examiners mark

Students practise definitions, labelled diagrams and long answers in the structure their board's papers expect.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Explain key concepts in their own words and in the syllabus's words
  • Solve numericals with correct formulas, units and working
  • Draw and label the diagrams the syllabus asks for
  • Write short and long answers that match the marking scheme
  • Know which chapters are secure and which need more practice

These are the aims of the lessons. Progress depends on the student’s starting point and practice, and we never promise grades or results.

Frequently asked questions

The questions students and parents ask us most, filed where you can find them. Pull a card to read it.

Which science subjects do you teach?

General Science for Grades 1 to 8, then Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Grade 9 onwards: Matric, O Level, IGCSE and GCSE, FSc, A Level and the IB.

Do you teach FSc pre-medical and pre-engineering?

Yes. Physics, Chemistry and Biology for FSc follow your board's textbook. Mathematics for pre-engineering has its own page.

Mathematics tuition

Can one student take more than one science?

Yes. Each subject is booked separately, on its own plan, so a student can take Physics and Chemistry, for example, with classes at different times.

Do you help with practicals?

Tutors explain the experiments in the syllabus, the readings and how to write them up, and practise practical-based exam questions. Hands-on lab work itself happens at school.

Do you prepare students for science exams?

Yes: school tests, Matric and FSc board exams, and Cambridge, IGCSE and A Level papers, with past-paper practice. Tell us the exam date and we plan around the time left.

School Exam Preparation

How many classes a week are there?

The standard plan is 3 one-hour classes a week per subject. The other plans give two or four classes a week; the table on this page shows each price. You choose the days and times.

Can we ask for a female science tutor?

Yes. Female tutors are available. Tell us when you get in touch and we confirm the tutor with you before the free class.
